Just days after jumping the sinking ship at the Republican National Committee, who as captain rammed it into three straight icebergs during the federal elections, she seemed to have found her life raft on the far-left network MSNBC.
Last week, Ronna McDaniel was hired as an MSNBC Contributor. The Wall Street Journal, however, is reporting there is already a mutiny on board her new network:
NBC News’s Chuck Todd sharply criticized the news organization over its hiring of former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, the latest sign of the backlash within the company over the high-profile hire.
His remarks came after MSNBC’s president, amid internal unrest, signaled to staffers that McDaniel wouldn’t appear on any of the cable channel’s original programming, The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday.
“I think our bosses owe you an apology for putting you in this situation,” Todd told Kristen Welker on Sunday following her interview of McDaniel on Meet the Press.
“There’s a reason why there’s a lot of journalists at NBC News uncomfortable with this, because many of our professional dealings with the RNC over the last six years have been met with gaslighting.”
During her appearance on Meet the Press, McDaniel diverted from the mainstream media narrative on Donald Trump’s campaign promise to pardon non-violent J6 defendants.
“Well, let’s talk about the election. Now. Donald Trump says one of his first acts, if he is reelected to a second term, would be to free those charged and convicted of crimes related to January 6th,” MSNBC’s Kristin Welker asked. “Do you support that?”
“I want to be very clear,” McDaniel responded. “The violence that happened on January 6th is unacceptable. It doesn’t represent our country. It certainly does not represent my party. We should not be attacking the capitol. We should not be having violence. I said it that day. I put a statement out that day that this is not acceptable. If you attacked our capitol and you have been and you’ve been convicted, then that should stay.”
“So then, but to the question though, do you disagree with Trump saying he’s going to free those who’ve been charged to be convicted?” Welker went on.
“I do not think people who committed violent acts on January 6th should be freed,” Ronna McDaniel responded.
“So you disagree with that? He’s been saying that for months. Ronna, why not speak out earlier? Why just speak out about that now?” Welker asked.
“When you’re the RNC chair, you kind of take one for the whole team. Right?” McDaniel said. Now I get to be a little bit more myself, right? This is what I believe.”
Thus, McDaniel implies that she wasn’t being herself as RNC Chair (or as one commentator put it, she was being “fake“). Furthermore, she proves once again why she was such a poor communicator in that position. She makes a false distinction between herself and Donald Trump, who never said he would free violent January 6 defendants, as Welker misleadingly implies.
This is what Donald Trump actually said about pardoning January 6 defendants if he should become elected president, as reported by NBC News:
“I am inclined to pardon many of them,” Trump said at a town hall hosted by CNN at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. “I can’t say for every single one, because a couple of them, probably they got out of control.”
He added that “most likely” he would pardon “a large portion of them.”
“And it’ll be very early on,” Trump said.
Ronna McDaniel thus goes on to participate in Welker’s fraudulent argument.
“I don’t think violence should be in our political discourse, Republican or Democrat, and I disagree with that,” McDaniel said. “I agree with him on a whole host of other things. Let’s close the border. Let’s make sure we have good incomes for people. Let’s make sure we do a lot of great things. But on that point, I don’t think we should be freeing people who violently attacked Capitol Hill police officers and attack the capitol.”
Donald Trump never said he would free those who attacked police officers on January 6. No January 6 defendants have been charged with homicide or with “insurrection,” despite the media’s deceptive insinuations to the contrary.
RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel has presided over three disastrous Republican showings in national elections, including: The loss of the Republican-controlled House of Representatives in the 2018 midterm elections, the failure to successfully challenge the 2020 presidential election defeat, and the non-materialization of a projected “red wave” election in 2022.
She is right to home at MSNBC with her fellow contributors, who are determined to undermine the success of any political opposition to the radical Democratic Party.
I have never been able to understand why someone who is demont=strably incompetent was ever made RNC Chariman let alone retined after three disastrouselections. Her judgment is poor, and sejhe accepted employment at a network that is the worst of the worst of the MSM.
