Marines Get Last Laugh After Navy Vaught In ‘Embarrassing’ Gaffe

The U.S. Marines seemingly sent a message to the U.S. Navy through social media on Wednesday, just a day after the Navy shared a picture of a man shooting a rifle with the scope mounted incorrectly.

As a part of the Department of the Navy, the Marines are renowned for their pride and honor. Similar to other branches of the military, they have a long-standing tradition of friendly rivalries with airmen, sailors, and soldiers from different divisions of the American armed forces.

This is why the post from the Marines on the social media platform X on Wednesday garnered laughter at the Navy’s expense. The Marines shared a photo of a Marine firing a rifle on a Navy ship and humorously pointed out that it provided a “Clear Sight Picture.

“#Marines assigned to the @15thMEUOfficial conduct a live-fire deck shoot aboard the @usnavy amphibious assault ship USS Boxer, April 6,” the Marines posted.

“The 15th MEU is currently embarked aboard the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group conducting routine operations.”

The optics on the weapon were precisely positioned, as depicted in the image, leaving no room for doubt. Conversely, a recent Instagram post by the U.S. Navy, which was subsequently removed, exhibited a serviceman firing a rifle while at sea. However, it was observed that the scope had been mistakenly mounted in reverse.
