Russia ARRESTS Los Angeles Woman for ‘Treason’

Ksenia Karelina, a 33-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was apprehended by the Federal Security Service (F.S.B.) for allegedly committing high treason by donating to a Ukrainian organization that procured weapons and other supplies for the Ukrainian military, according to reports from the New York Times and Media Zona.

The NYT report reported:

“Perviy Otdel, a group of Russian lawyers who specialize in cases involving accusations of treason and other politically charged allegations, said that the woman had been accused of treason for sending just over $50 to Razom for Ukraine, a New York-based nonprofit organization that sends assistance to the country.”

In central Russia’s city of Yekaterinburg, the F.S.B. has announced the arrest of a woman who was visiting her parents in the country.

RIA Novosti, a Russian state news agency, has released a video allegedly showing the woman being handcuffed and accompanied by masked security service officers, with her eyes covered by a white hat.

If found guilty, she could potentially face a prison sentence of up to 20 years.

The court in Yekaterinburg is set to hear her appeal on Tuesday.

As stated on the court’s website, she is being charged with treason.

What’s the story here? It sounds like she’s a Russian who tried to live in USA and committed treason while abroad?
